With each new trial I face, the same questions seem to surface. Will I make it through this? Will I come out on the other side? Will I depend on the Lord as I should? Will the Lord be pleased with my actions and reactions? How much pain will this trial cause me? Will I be stronger because of this trial?
I think it is because of the unknown that we ask so many questions. And yet if we knew the future as God knows, could we handle knowing what is to come? Looking at the big picture in our lives (instead of just today) is sometimes hard – but God sees the finished product and knows all about what we are facing today. What trial is big to me, may be small to you; but I am glad God is with me through each trial teaching me to trust Him more!
It is during these times, that God’s promises are so sweet. Hebrews 13:5, “…I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” James 4:8, “Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you…” Job 23:10, “But He knoweth the way that I take: when He hat tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”
