Nothing is Impossible!

Matthew 19:26 – But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Philippians 4:19 – But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

1238208_10151960219251802_194842367_nIt is real easy to read a verse and say, “That’s right!” or to see something happen in the life of a fellow Christian and think “God is good,” but it is a whole different thing when you experience the moving of God first hand, and we experienced God’s moving literally this summer.

My wife and I had been working in a ministry for fifteen years together on the Island of Puerto Rico – teaching in the day school, serving in various aspects of the church ministry, and settling in and raising our three sons.  We were happy and had a ministry with the teens at our church and school and were content to stay there forever.  Unbeknownst to us though, God had a different plan.

On July 12, 2013, on a Friday afternoon, I got a call from Pastor James Baker, who I had never met, asking me if I would pray about coming to Tabernacle to work with him as the youth pastor.  I said, “Sure, I’ll pray.” But in the back of my mind, I thought this is impossible. I live in Puerto Rico; I have a job and a ministry already; this want work.  Not to mention, I didn’t have any funds to make a move like this.

To make a long story short, a month and one day after I spoke to Pastor Baker, my family and I landed at the airport in Norfolk to begin our ministry here at Tabernacle Baptist Church.  To write it all down would take too long, but let me encourage you, Believer, Rom. 8:31 states if God be for us, who can be against us.  IF it is His will then He will make a way and just like the two verses at the beginning of the devotion say, “With God all things are possible,” and “He shall supply all our needs.”  We just need to be willing servants ready to follow Him in whatever path He leads us down because His will is always best, and we could never be happier!

  1. Hey y’all….. I had no idea until reading this that you had moved to Tabernacle, that’s awesome! Pastor Josh Savage is my former pastor’s son- small world! 🙂 I can’t wait to see how God will use your family there!
