Sometimes we get so caught up in our schedules, so busy that we feel tired, exhausted, hardly able to function effectively, but we still need to wait on the Lord for our strength. We need to reflect on Him, to glorify Him. “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.” Hebrews 12:1-3.
So many times we are tempted to quit before we accomplish our goals. We need to pursue the goals God sets up for us and not be weary in the work, trusting God to help us get there. Galatians 6:9, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” It takes patience not to be weary in doing the righteous actions in our lives. There is a promise of reaping for not quitting. Some victories take longer than others to pursue. If we are persistent in our pursuit, we will gain the victory God wants us to have in His good time.
We should not faint in our minds, but wait on Him for our strength. Lord, help us to wait on You, to meditate on You, to reflect Your image, and to glorify You.
