Too many times we see this verse taken out of context, but it is referring to salvation. God wants us to realize that for anyone to be saved is an impossible feat. There is nothing we can do to be saved. That’s the point. Salvation is not about us–it’s all about Jesus and what He did. If a person comes to the Lord like the rich young ruler, asking what HE can do to be saved, he’s not ready. It is when one comes to the end of himself, realizing he CAN’T do anything, that he is ready. Just like Peter cried when sinking into the sea, “Lord, save me!” we need to leave it all in His hands. We all know people who need the Lord for whom we pray & witness. It can seem so impossible that they will ever come to the Lord. After years of praying and numerous rejections, we can lose hope. But be of good courage! Claim the verse, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” God loves that friend or family member much more than you do. And though it is impossible for any of us to be saved, through God (Christ Jesus) ALL things are possible!!
