God’s great creation, did you ever wonder – How? Why? What? I believe the Psalmist did – “When I consider” – that could be translated into How? Why? What? The Psalmist was considering the heavenly creation. In a previous devotional, I considered God’s creation with a question about the animal world. This time I would like to consider God’s creation with a question about the plant world. When you study God’s creation, you see the intricate design of even a simple plant. Have you ever wondered why the top of a leaf is always greener than the bottom? Maybe you haven’t, but it shows God’s ingenious design and the intricate working of something as “simple” as a leaf. If you remember from science class – plants need the green pigment chlorophyll to carry on photosynthesis, but more importantly they need the energy of the sun to make that process happen. So it’s no mistake that God put most of the chlorophyll containing cells in the top layer of the leaf where the sun can reach it easily. When I consider . . . God’s creation is very good. Genesis 1:10b. . and God saw that it was good.
