Every year as I decorate the Christmas tree, my mind is flooded with memories of past Christmases and the people we spent them with. I have many ornaments that were gifts from dear people in the churches we have served in and many from dear relatives and sweet friends. Christmas time, in general, is a time of reflection. We sing the songs—“Away in the Manger,” “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing,” “Joy to the World,” and many others, and our minds go to the reason for Christmas—the Christ child who was born in a manger to die on the cross for your sin and mine! There are parties, fellowships, get-togethers all in the name of Christmas. We remember our family and friends—both near and far away—and thank God for all He has done for each of us.
May this Christmas be very special to each of you! May you make memories you will recall in Christmases future! And may we never forget—in all the hustle and bustle—the reason for the season—Christ! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
