A Public Office is a Public Trust

Many times I have had the privilege to preach at a beautiful, old, stone church in Harrisonville, MO.  The town is much like Mayberry on Andy Griffith, and the church is about two blocks down the street from the historic courthouse square.

In 2011, I took this picture of the front of the beautiful old courthouse building.  The quote says, “A Public Office Is A Public Trust.”  I like that quote, because it lets our officials know that “We the people” have the authority in our government, and we may or may not give certain individuals the right to represent us.

We live in a republic where if we do not like what our representatives do, we can do something about it in the voting booth.

I hope that Christians across our country will be able to perceive which officials fail to vote for biblical values and then help to elect those who stand for what God says is right.
